No, BitChat doesn't need your location. The core BLE mesh works without it. automatic peer discovery happens directly between devices, not via location data.
The optional internet features use location, but these are separate from the offline mesh.
no accounts, no phone numbers, no persistent identifiers. Your location stays on your device in mesh mode.
