EV's most probably emmit more CO2 over their lifetime than a diesel car (nobody cares though.
But, EV's objectively have wayy less local emissions than ICE cars. I drive a diesel car myself but still, any study saying EV's emmit 1000x more emissions are just cherry picking data. Maybe the tires emmit 1000x more particles in a 10sec timeframe when giving full throttle. In normal operation they emmit way less emissions as they don't burn hydrocarbons which is never a fully clean process. No catalytic converter and particulate filter is 100% effective, especially not in cold state (~first 5min of driving) which is also the range people drive trough the city to the highway and pollute the air. ICE's emmit NOX, PM, unburnt hydrocarbons including highly cancerous shit like benzene and PAH's. I would bet money on this at I actually did emmision tests on cars in development. Also prob 80% of cars are not new and equipped with the best exhaust cleaning systems while a 10year old Tesla still emmits 0 chemical toxins in my air except for some PM from brakes and tires.
Regarding efficiency, do you know about the efficiency of ICE's vs electric motors? ICE's blow 70% of the energy they consume away as heat. Electric cars are by far more efficient in converting electrical energy into mechanical energy.
This is just reality, all CO2 bullshit aside.
Ah also what is not mentioned in this "Article" is that PM != PM. I'd rather inhale some relatively inert rubber PM than highly cancerous combustion PM that contains some fun molecules of PAH's that go straight into the blood circuit.

Regarding fire hazard, do you know how much gasoline cars burn in accidents? A shitload. EV's are hart to extinguish once they start to burn but newer models control this very well, for example by using low conductivity coolant. I personally know cases of garages burning down involving gas cars, aka fuel dripping on hot exhaust for example. This is a BS argument.
Child labor is probably true but I guess you also have to get the fancy metals for piston and bearing alloys out of the ground, so gas cars are def also consuming some special metals. Also see catalytic converters lmao
