On iOS, the operating system silently closes the apps for you. What you see when switching apps is often a screenshot of the app. The system will relaunch the app when you choose it.

My answer to your question? I leave the apps and let the OS handle it.

This is the correct answer. I’m just old. The only other consideration is buggy Nostr apps that don’t resume well from suspend. But you’re right, it actually costs more battery power to close and reopen.
