so you're saying that adding more lanes to highway doesn't work due to induced demand ...

but adding more housing to a city is somehow not subject to the same pitfall of induced demand ...

except the evidence is that it indisputably is.

the housing demand is not "fundamental" to the rocks of San Francisco. it is CREATED by city planning.

why is there demand in SF and zero demand on 90% of the surface of USA which is either wilderness or crop land ?
