yea I would just take a regular screen in this form factor with grapheneOS. Honestly just want my phone to do communications give me a small screen so much less temptations for wasting time watching video and browsing.

Graphene wouldnt work due to the pixel specific nature but no reason another non-stock rom couldnt work. I'd snatch one up were that the case. I miss PKBs in the worst way. My favorite phone of all time.

Blackberry Classic? I kind of loved blackberry 10 if it was getting security updates still and had a more up to date browser I'd be rocking one as a daily driver. My favorite device was actually the blackberry passport harder keyboard to get used to but when I did, the wide screen for reading articles and emails was actually pretty awesome. I want my phone to be a communicator thats it cut the other distractions. Just email, signal messaging, and modern browser.

Yes the classic (have 3 more plus 2 or 3 of the Q2 I think iy was called). Never had a passport though. I was buying up used ones for awhile then the LTE only switch/3G shutdown happened and rendered them pretty useless. They still grab 2G last I checked but its such a weak signal at this point. I tried one of the BB Androids when they came out but wasnt impressed. Also had this for a bit which was pretty much a passport clone

Yea I tried the Titan out but it was like 5 pound brick in my pocket. After I sold it there was lineageOS rom for these Unihertz Titan devices but seems like a process to flash it and get everything working right. Was considering trying to flash the Titan Slim

Yea that thing doubles as a weapon. Saw that about flashing it too. Was considering another after mine died and putting a custom on but from everything I came across, wasnt risking bricking it. Not tech illiterate but not something I ever did before and with my luck Id ruin it. Bought a pixel with graphene already installed instead. And been my daily driver ever since. Have one with Lineage and Calyx too, but those are sim free and have their own specific purposes that isnt 'phone'.

Yea same I didn't think I could pull it off so I stayed away. I basically ended up in same place. Pixel with graphene is nice. Just missing physical keyboard and smaller form factor and I'd be happy. Maybe one day someone will create something that hits that sweet spot for me .....

Yea nothing has replicated the feeling of the bb10 devices I tried like the classic and passport sadly. Hopefully someday someone nails it and it'll probably stick as my daily driver for a long time. Seems like you are like me trying to find something that did replicate it. Search continues lol.

The never ending quest. But if vinyl records made a comeback, I have faith the pbk along with privacy can as well.

Forgot for a second, got this too(Pinephone Pro and have the OG as well but think it died) but more for tinkering than using.

That looks pretty sick yea sadly I looked into and like you said more of tinker device then a daily driver. I tried Ubuntu touch on a pixel 3a before. I went into it with low expectations but Ubuntu touch is decent. Close to functional enough to almost be a daily driver.

I got a one of these for mobile laptop running linux its pretty sweet but not a phone.

Tried Ubuntu touch on the OG, but didnt like it. It still wasnt smooth on the pinephones at the time so went with Postmarket. Which I loved until whatever happened to it happened. Arch on the pro is nice though.

That laptop thing looks slick too. Never heard of it but checked the site and interesting device for gaming from the looks of it.

Yea I was surprised how well it ran on the Pixel 3a on their site it says it s the most supported device for ubuntu touch. Never tried PostMarket or Arch but I should give Arch a try thanks.

Another company that makes these cool little laptops is GPD. GPD Win Max 2 is a pretty sweet device for a small laptop plus gaming. Has oculink port which allows fast external gpu support. 2 ssd slots can run windows on one for gaming and linux on other for computing. Even has a 4g modem attachment

OneNext and GPD have been making some cool devices.

Not even a gamer but would grab something like this if the budget allowed. Total nerd with this stuff.🤓

haha same My weakness is these cool devices I need a cheaper hobby 😂

hahaha, yea amen to that. Was making good money at my previous job so wasn't an issue, but times change ya know...

Someone tried to sell a blackberry copycat keyboard case for iphones back in the day but got sued. If Blackberry just made keyboard cases for phones like the pixel I'd happily buy one and I'd think they would do well. Keyboard shortcuts, capactive keys for scrolling would be sweet.

Saw that recently. Not sure if they work well, but I love the idea
