Why are we (as a human race) not planting a shitload of trees in deserts?

So much land. Trees would literally heal the entire area, making it 100% liveable.

I should run the world. I’d make it better. Guaranteed. I’d also kill my enemies so just don’t become an enemy. Simple.

I didn’t see this specifically so thx for sharing.

I saw the story of the guy that single handedly planted thousands of trees and brought an entire region back to life in less than 50 years.

But if you planted trees in deserts it wouldn’t be a desert anymore and that would be sad and racist.

Valid point.

There is a movement out here in my desert along the lines of managing water through earthen structures and geography to allow the rainfall to be sufficient to sustain agriculture. AR15ONA deserts get a decent amount of rain, but unfortunately via occasional deluge rather than small amounts regularly.

Love it.
