Yesterday I went out to lunch with my team members for my first day as an audit intern. One of them opened up a stock trading app and asked if I watch the market.

I said no and then wondered if I should mention bitcoin, but didn't.

I'm honestly scared to bring it up, especially at work. This is all primarily due to the distraction that is "crypto".

Whenever I mention Bitcoin to the uninitiated, things quickly devolve into a discussion I did not want to have. FTX gets tossed into the convo and now they are lost talking about something that has little to do with bitcoin.

All I want to do is explain why having 1/21M of something is better than 1/♾.

Fuck you crypto!

Absolutely do NOT bring it up at work.

Depending on the age level of your coworkers, and their understanding of anything deep…you might get labeled a threat, criminal, scam artist or all three.
