Should damus have that "content warning" feature from mastodon? Did people find that useful?

yeah would be pretty simple, would just be a tag ["cw", "politics"] and then it would only show "cw: politics" in the content until you expanded it.
Have you ever tried to browse the "Federated" timeline on Mastodon? I found it useful as accounts posting nudity, some kind of gore etc wouldn't automatically pop up when I browsed it in a public place. There are way to many weeaboo's out there...
I think that letting OP decide to put a NSFW tag on a post makes sense
