Yeah but people may never find you. I agree that it would be better to self host, but there are barriers to that.
I totally disagree! LN Beats and EVERY Podcasting 2.0 app out there surfaces decentralized music, or DeMu. Fountain's radio feature is really shining a light on it!
There is a whole catalog of exclusively DeMu at HomegrownHits.xyz and music podcasts out there that only play self-hosted music to ensure value goes where it is due.
Musicians like The Doerfels are empowering other musicians to emancipate themselves from the music industry by self-hosting, and nostr:npub1v5tmvszwyrds85jy2wnuzyc037mhjxp0axl0fwjkqy0ge9t7cpusssc52s is even doing the legwork for folks who don't want to take the time to learn.
But it is simple! And word of mouth will always been the best discovery mechanism anyway. 😉
