Ferrari looked quick in practice, much more in the fight at the front than they were in Melbourne. Leclerc seemed to have the edge on his team mate again, until SQ3. Both drivers came out for one flying lap, but Hamilton absolutely nailed his at a track he loves to grab pole for the Sprint – a result he could not believe afterwards. Leclerc had to settle for fourth, with plenty to muse over given his team mate seems to have found his feet at last.
