It’s easy to knock someone out and try different fingers until you get what you want. Also, fingerprints and other biometric data can be compelled (forced) by court order in the US, at least. PIN numbers can’t be compelled by law, and can’t be retrieved if you’re unconscious. Far superior to fingerprints in this case.
