If you had children and didn't actively encourage them to try to learn piano....why? I've never met a dumb/untalented person who plays piano. If I have kids my first big purchase will be a piano.

Brother & I took accordion lessons as kids to learn the keys etc.
We punched ourselves in the face for the nerddom.
Didn’t work, neither of us can play.
I agree. We have chosen not to start young with our kids but when they’re a bit older we want to start lessons. For now we’re trying to focus on letting them be kids and not having too many rigid expectations.
If that was confusing, let me clarify. Everyone I know who plays the piano is highly intelligent and talented in multiple disciples

A decent keyboard with 88 keys will suffice. I had lessons, and still enjoy playing occasionally.
