You're missing something. Nostr does not scale.

It will only ever be a small handful of people excited about a future that is not coming.

It cannot and will never even be a quarter of the size of Twitter, for example.

Why? Even all the Nostr developers will tell you, you should connect to around 3 relays. No more.

So if people want to be able to see each other, well, then they all need to connect to the same popular relays. That is a return to centralization.

Nostr will only ever be either:

- small groups of people who can't easily find or speak to the rest of the world (like right now), or

- a massive community of people but very censored and centralized, just like legacy social media (which kind of defeats the entire purpose of Nostr in the first place).

Nostr cannot be decentralized, unstoppable, and yet also massive, unless the developers make a profound shift in how notes move through relays to be more like a gossip protocol.

If nostr is the current network of "relays" then it's ngmi

But what if nostr is mainly the npub/nsec keypair being popularized as decentralized forms of contact info equivalent to phone numbers or email addresses?
