Mind control is basically brainwashing by remote access device. It's a variation on the principle of cultists being put together to reinforce their cult identity and obedience to the cult principles.

Mind control is the central business of media these days, and every single shitcoin project uses mind control techniques.

In most cases that I have seen, the culture of the organisations behind shitcoins are cults also, with varying degrees of non-remote, aka Brainwashing rituals as part of their system.

Even Nostr is cultish in some respects, but not so much centering around the not really very much of a showoff fiatjaf. Nostriches, apparently, are the evangelists of Nostr the social media cult.

But it's not a cult if it's not centered on a person.

It's a great illustration of how humans are in a constant process of programming each other.

Distributed systems theory, itself, is practically a model of cult meme propagation systems, that is, taking a disparate group of entities, and making them function as though they are a single entity.

Cybernetics is said to be meant in terms of training animals to work for us, but it's the basis of mind control also, which is the projections of cult-like models and anchor phrases, aka 'buzzwords' that mark the active and avid cultist.

Like us computer users, from the early days. Many of us got excited in part due to the way that this technology can eliminate miscalculations and help accumulate knowledge and reduce the frequency of incorrect applications of it. That applies to good things and bad things.

But ultimately it's an arms race you have to join or see the enemy use it against you.
