There is something to be said about how much non profit money is funneled to ceos and not foss contributors but people are wondering why f-droid needs money like they dont need to host servers with good bandwidth to run an App Store.
His take is just typical lolbert shit "Uh if the gov had minimal to no taxes then I could choose to send my money to these projects without politics clouding it" ignoring that most people just won't send money to foss projects because people hate paying for "free things" so you have to be lucky and hope you get a super rich donor to bankroll it. See Conda Forge which is the largest used FOSS conda repository used by labs and companies big and small (since the official anaconda stuff has funky licensing). If it wasn't bankrolled no company would fund it and they would be happy to leech off the repos like AWS and azure do with linux ones.
God, I hate that mentality. If you are only a Libertarian because you hate hardship and want to be able to get shit for free then you have no principles. The only Libertatians worthy of respect are those who are Libertarian for ethical reasons, and those who are willing to suffer for their beliefs.
