We Were Never Sleeping

Oh, we were never sleeping, just waiting and watching,

While the echoes of empire kept cracking and blotching.

They thought silence meant surrender, a whisper of chains,

But we were etching our freedom in code and domains.

Born in the land where the sun never sets,

Yet they swore we were lost in colonial debts.

But steel doesn’t rust when it’s tempered in fire,

And a mind that was caged only burns with desire.

We don’t march with muskets, we march with the mind,

Stacking our blocks, leaving shadows behind.

They came with their ledgers, their guns, and their creeds,

But we carved our own path, now we write our own deeds.

Their violence is neutralized—outdated, exposed,

A relic of hands that history has closed.

For every chain they forged, we forged something new,

A currency of thought, a vision that grew.

We are the children of a dawn long delayed,

Not ghosts of the past, not souls to be swayed.

We were never sleeping, just waiting and watching,

Now the world learns: we were always clocking.
