Happy Fourth of July to those that still believe in the myth of authority

Independence Day was about killing 'authority'.
Idk why I didn’t get a notification for this reply.
The problem is they turned around and immediately established a new authority: a piece of paper that can’t actually limit government.
Actually The Articles of Confederation did limit goverment. Very much so. Which is why they had to go. The Constitution is NOT a founding document, it was a crime, a coup, a usurpation. US history is more complex than the text book version. Most of this land mass had no government control at all even with the Constitution for a very long time.
Would you say that the articles of confederation failed to prevent the formation of the constitution?
Considering the Articles were just tossed aside then the Constitution drafted in secret, contrary to what the public was told, I would say criminals did criminal things. The flaw wasnt the Articles. The flaw was criminals. The people had no choice on the matter, so to blame them for 'immediately creating a document...' as you wrote, implying the Constitution, is just not true.
The point I’m trying to illustrate is that objects like the articles or the constitution are just objects. They cannot prevent anything. Even if those criminals didn’t succeed or weren’t around, it’s only a matter of time until someone else comes around. The constitution has been violated repeatedly. It doesn’t matter because it’s all about power at the end of the day.

Never made a claim otherwise, but you said after breaking from the Crown, the people immediately adopted the constitution, or at least implied it, and that is false.
That’s fair I did say that you’re right
Yea I have no disagreement with you at all about pieces of paper. Just pointing out that it was many years until the Constitution was ratified post independence. And keep in mind, due to slow moving info in those days, most didnt even know until it was too late
More reason to think of these things as silly. Seems like most people were unaware of these amazing acts of freedom lol
Ben Franklin had written in a letter his concern that there were places in Pennsylvania that not only had no local gov, but apparently the people didnt realize there was no state or federal at that time (forget all the specifics) and said that one needs to be made before the people realized they dont need one at all. As always, the monied interested win. As for the Articles, where that truly shined is the federal government had no power at all, mainly just for international dealings and arbitrating disputes between the states. Had to ask for taxes from the states and rarely got it, so big reason they had to go. Also reqired super-majorities for nearly everything. We would be so much better off if they stayed in place.
That’s a different way of looking at George Washington. So much freedom huh 😂
At this point anyone who still thinks America is independent of imperial rule must have a depressingly low IQ.

You’re not wrong
What are the three titles? I can only make out 2/3 books.
The blurry one is anatomy of the state by Murray Rothbard
