What jurisdiction is that?

UAE, El Salvador, and similar.

The State is fundamentally a denial of freedom. These people do not respect your freedom. They may allow more rights than other government bodies. Rights that are allowed are called liberties, but rights are permissionless.

Free people have rights. Citizens, soldiers, and slaves have liberties.

When you strip the power of money from the state; you castrate its ability to abuse almost entirely and instantly. That’s what a Bitcoin standard aims to do.

I'm a big fan of Bitcoin.

Still, I think you're overstating the case. Instead of stripping power from the State, it will succeed in stripping off it's gentle mask and lay bear it's true power. Violence.

More directly, the willingness of Patriots to use violence in service to the State. This first shows up as laws against any perceived threat to Fiat.

If people are unwilling to defend against this, they will surrender Bitcoin, as they did gold previously.

For now,

Keep stacking SATs

And stop serving the State.

its a given that as fiats collapse, states will lash out confiscating bitcoin...

CoinJoin now.... "Lose your bitcoin"....Thank yourself later.

Historically, they haven't waited for fiats collapse. I suppose they only need believe the reality of that threat.

True except in this case; there is nothing physical to confiscate. They also know; it cannot be banned as has been proven over and over. Don’t forget, not all jurisdictions are hostile against it either and those that are have very limited power. If they can scare an individual into giving up their Bitcoin, then that individual wasn’t meant to have it in the same way that those unwilling to die protecting their freedom don’t deserve it either. I am optimistic though. Fiat will 100% collapse and the corruption will go with it - at least in a large enough part of the world where it won’t really matter what the other part is doing.

I don't disagree with you. For the first time in history the individual can stand against the State and say,

>***NO!***

Theoretically...

Philosophically...

And maybe even pragmatically.

*But in practice*, in the simple historical facts, it has not worked out that way. It's easy to judge such people. Perhaps they didn't steel themselves sufficiently.

We aren't talking about David versus Goliath, but rather an insignificant boy against the entire Philistine horde.

I remember being so disappointed with the Dread Pirate Roberts. The US Government is still selling off his Bitcoin, when its minions aren't trying to steal it for themselves. I think they intentionally stretched out the whole process just to remind the public, *Bitcoin cannot protect you from us*.

Yes, one man might sacrifice himself for freedom and what is righteous, but will he sacrifice his mother?

Will he sacrifice his wife and children and anyone else he holds dear? We are not talking about people that play fair. The State has *tortured some folks* to get what they want. They've even been known to rape innocent daughters in front of their fathers to achieve their goals.

Yes, there is change coming but it's not going to happen one man at a time against the State. Rather this is a cultural war first. The individual must surrender both the dangerous superstition of authority and recognize that these people are not benevolent actors but desperately wicked.

Once a significant minority of people do that, the power of the State is undone by an overwhelming force of people that insist on being free.

That's how we get from here to freedom in a nutshell.

There are more people waking up than there are of them. I am optimistic. The key is to kill the fear they try to instill. They are not Gods. They are not invincible or bulletproof. They are human; just like everyone else. Also, I’m convinced enough people will choose violence to protect their freedoms when their lives or livelihood are on the line.

I think you and I are going to be friends.
