12 words is plenty good. Thats 128 bits of entropy.
24 words provides for more, but even at 12 words thats good enough for about 1 billion years of brute forcing. Things may improve over time that could possibly bring it to under 1 million years, but nothing would be cracked within our lifetime
And when the times come, you simply move your stuff to a 24w wallet. Easy peasy.
