#ask nostr why I can’t use blue wallet to create a private key and then use that public key to save sats there for the next 10/15 years? Is that insecure or any other problem I can have? #bitcoin

you technically can. However, every year will increare the threat of bugs and malware that might steal/expose your private key. Are you sure this wallet is designed to outstand the test of time?

Also, will be your device still operational in 15 years? Will be the substitute device compatiple with Blue Wallet?

Perfect security doesn't exists, and the target for good-enough security always change

For a lung run, an hardware wallet is suggested. Also, you are not bound a specific software wallet when using an hardware wallet (the software must still be compatible)

#ColdCard and #SeedSigner are DYI hardwallet, and #BitBox02 is a good commercial wallet if you prefer a more ready-to-go wallet

The choise of the software wallets will be based by the hardwallet choice.

#Sparrow is a good desktop wallet, as #BlueWallet for Android
