From people I talked to you can get a decent 1 bedroom for about $1k a month in San Blas which is near El Zonte. I didn’t research rental costs in Costa Rica, but my guess is it would be the same or more in or near Uvita. In Guatemala I found a 1 bedroom with an awesome view of Lake Atitlan for only $500 a month. Looked at a bunch of apartments in Bitcoin Lake and they were all pretty cheap.
