That low? 🤯

i was actually being generous.

Nocoiners ngmi šŸ˜‚

I don’t get why the number would be so low. It’s been 15 years.

this number will only decrease. if you think about it, bitcoin being a few million dollars per coin in the next few yrs will make it much harder for even wealthy individuals to be wholecoiners, let alone self custody it.

I get I will keep decreasing but 30k is low globally but my perception may not be reality. I just don’t get how the number is currently so low.

Feels too low

owning 1+ btc individually in self custody is extremely rare.

If this number is true in 2025 then the idea of freedom money is dead within 10 years if we cannot grow that stat dramatically.

Are you counting multi-sig services like unchained in that as well?

Hard to differentiate but my estimates are based on true independent self-custody without any external services or custodians. There are much larger number of individuals holding 1+ btc on exchanges.

I know individuals with 10+ bitcoin exposure entirely on exchanges.

With options like Onramp, I really just don’t understand that decision even if you can’t get all the way to self-custody.

This also explains why we’re still barely above $100k

Call me a heretic, but I don’t buy the massive paper bitcoin narrative

Exchange holdings just suck, why not own ETF if that’s what you want?

when in-kind redemption passes, expect a flood of conversions.

How hilarious would it be for an exchange (or two) blow up to be because of in-kind redemptions šŸ˜‚

The few, the proud, the bitcoin sovereigntists

58k eventually

Probably just us plebs on Nostr.

Iā€˜d guess >50k humans.

Except me. I lost it all. Starting off zero again.
