I believe so, but I’ve never done it on a machine that I also use for other stuff. Usually people do it with old computers or cheap small ones that that’s their only purpose. But i’m theory, I think you can. As long as you have about 1TB of free storage.

Probably, but only if you’re willing to install Linux OS on it and leave it running 24/7 and not use it for anything else.

Need it lid open and on, yes, but homebrew for macOS has bitcoind and graphical bitcoin builds available. I’ve run them in pruned mode for years.

Yes depending on storage you can run a full node or pruned node. Just download bitcoincore.org

You can run a pruned node, you pick how much of the blockchain to store on your computer once the whole chain has synced which can take a few days.
