A CD-ROM graphical adventure called Magical Internet Money, for the BTCos is published by videogame developer studio V-sat.
More than 100,000 copies were sold on the first week of launch. Starring a cosmonaut called Wot Nyler (voiced by Tommy Lee Jones), it is the story of a journey through hyperspace to share the Bitcoin technology to other sentient species across the galaxy. Full of puzzles and challenges, this graphical adventure was considered ahead of its time due to it being the first videogame capable of interacting directly with the Bitcoin network, allowing players to monetize their playing experience and to set unalterable proof of score records. Solutions to some of the game's most difficult puzzles were sold for as high as 20,000 sats. Magical Internet Money won the 1999 Satoshi Awards in the categories of Best Level Design, Best Musical Score and the Orange Satoshi Statue awarded to the videogames who managed to generate considerable wealth for the players.
