Old Lou, our good and loyal homestead companion, friend, protector, took a turn for the worse this morning. We said our goodbyes, and my husband did the very hard job of putting him down. Rest in peace Lou.

I only recently discovered the unbelievably sweet companionship of dogs, and haven't quite accepted that we'll be in this same situation sooner or later 💔
