Scenario:
A friend of yours is interested in #bitcoin and they specifically are interested in the lightning network, which wallet would you recommend them to check out. (They have no knowledge on anything cryptocurrency other than the name Bitcoin and the basic idea of sending/receiving money)
Friends don't recommend friends use Bitcoin.
Any LN wallet and once they actually bought some Bitcoin you can spend more of your time on helping them to understand self-custody. Doing more "education" before they pull the trigger is a waste of your time.

This is not an answer to your question, and this is coming from a normie and not someone technical, but if they are in the US I would recommend they stay away from lightning until they understand how on chain stuff works, and then have them watch several hours of tutorials on lightning.
IMO lightning has been upended in the US. Before I would say fire up Wallet of Satoshi, once you get a feel for that and are adventurous try Phoenix, and from there they are more adventurous than me and should try their hands at managing their own channels, but that whole learning curve has been nuked.
I dunno, if they want to KYC themselves, Strike works well.
