I had a weirdo who was impersonating me on nostr and started sending sexualized imagery (some real images/ some synthetic) of me to any man who followed and commented. They did that for a while then they invited someone to my house while impersonating me. That was terrifying but in a way I’m grateful that it happened because I was able to see the darker side of what is possible here.

Outside of that one skitzo running multiple accounts to harass me, it’s been absolutely lovely here. The people are great and I’ve met a ton in person now. 💜 nostr:note1wkwxgrv3l06f5aj0vrcj6sdvpz4zgxu6trv80fz6xq5hgshey06svd6kmh

Terrible experience but yes, eyes wide open best. I decided to do a search a long time ago just to see what would come up. Things I wish I hadn't seen but certainly clarified the true meaning of censorship resistance. There is always light and dark

Not the first lady to complain of harassment here unfortunately, as for impersonating, amethyst on android has served me well, there is an icon on the people I follow and when people in my network report others then don't even appear in my feed.

It can get ugly online and when it does I just step away but I will say that centralized platforms have amazing tools to navigate your experience. Nostr will be a harder sell for some folks that want a curated experience.

The weirdo was trying to convince her that I have an onlyfans. I don’t have an onlyfans but I have people that harass me in this way. I messaged her privately to apologize. She was pulled in and handled it with class and grace, I appreciate that. Everyone was helpful and cool about it.
