Even back to the Roman Empire, Africans rarely controlled African resources, and when they did, it ended up with Zimbabwe or South Africa. Populism is an alien idea in SA.
Regardless of BRICS/RU politics, all that has ever happened in where there is exploitable resources in Africa is the transition between warlords, strong men, and foreigners.
