When people day Blackpill do they mean reality of a scenario depresses them and they want to stop talking about it? Wondering if it's avoidance of hard topics or desire to focus on solutions instead?

I think it goes deeper. Blackpill is being a Denethor. It is assuming a bleak and bitter disposition. It is essentially nihilism.

That makes more sense perhaps. I get confused cos people use it whenever a bad topic comes up like they are avoiding stuff.

Maybe there is a lesson there in communication 🤔

Yeah, or a lesson in over-application. Just because something is negative doesn't make it a blackpill.
