He's an absolute beast at his craft; but the dark, rusty, melancholic tones of most of his work feel draining to me.
On the flip-side, his heavy guitar laden pieces amp my energy to "jam the fuck out" levels.
Some of Trent's compositions were undeniably masterful, and so emotionally driven you can't help but to feel his angst, suffering, & twisted love!
He is not for the faint of heart!
For me, it takes a certain mood to listen to NIN.
I'm usually in the mood for some NIŠ. I feel the same way, that's why I love it so much!

What's you favorite album?
Broken. Mostly for emotional reasons, this one got me through really rough times. Close second is The Fragile, that one is probably his happiest album.
The Fragile if I had to pick one.
