What kind of soil/mix/nutrients/fertilizer do you use? When I use straight store bought potting soil my plants never seem to thrive.
Discussion
Cheap potting soil and bagged compost + cow manure mix from the box store blended up. Used Garden-tone fertilizer down by the roots.
I trusted the store bought stuff thinking that it would have enough nutrients, but it obviously doesn’t. I would have thought a mix like yours would be to “hot” but your plants look better than mine so I’m going to try and mix some of my own. Thanks for the advice.
Thanks! Before you copy it I have to admit that I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. My first growing season has been a exercise in what not to do.
The compost comes in a bright yellow bag with a cow on it. It seems to work pretty good but looks grainy. I just mix it with regular potting soil to give it some bite and to make it more soil like. Just eye balling it based on texture. If I am doing it right or wrong I have no idea but sprouted these peppers from seed so I am proud of them.
