You’re out at an event and you meet someone who is super excited about web3. They are enthusiastically telling you about projects and use cases that they find interesting.

You’re just standing there thinking that Bitcoin, Lightning, maybe more of a “web5” architecture would help them better achieve their goals. But you’re not an asshole, you don’t want to rain on their parade, how might you introduce some of these ideas to them?

What perspectives would you use? What examples might you reference?

I find myself in the same situation! When I do try to introduce bitcoin as a potential solution/alternative I’ve tried starting with describing how fiat system is broken and source of most the problems, bitcoin can’t be printed, fixed supply, proof of work, adoption in authoritarian/inflation stricken countries.

I consistently get head nods in agreement then they’ll reply “Yeah, yeah, well ethereum…” or “Web3 is going to…”

NO! Not ETH! Not crypto/web3. Did you not just hear what I said! 😂😂😂

The answer is Bitcoin. Learn about value prop of bitcoin then ponder Web3.

If I find somethin that works will let you know!
