Everything I’ve read and seen is the opposite.. I also strongly dislike the slave conditions they have their construction workers under, they take their passports away and work them like dogs for cheap labor, everything they advertise to get them to go n work there is false. I can’t see myself going there.. specially since they restrict free speech and freedom of the press. I don’t think my mind will change on this matter..

The only reason I recommend it was that they are very progressive with tech and all tech has to offer.

While I love Dubai for their progressiveness and opened mind in regards to new tech, I would like to add that they are doing everything they can to block VPNs and censor free speech against their government.
