The rabbits are in a static colony about 2000sqft (rough estimate) were they are free to make burrows and breed. We keep 3 does and one buck and eat the rest as the get large enough. We feed them mostly weeds and prunings during the summer and supplement with a custom grain mix. Over the winter we try to harvest all but the breeding stock (they don't breed much over the winter) and feed mostly grain.

It's probably much larger than it needs to be but we use the space to grow the cannabis too. The cannabis was actually there first with the fencing and all. Then we modified it to introduce the rabbits. We could probably have more breeding stock in there if we wanted but for now we are able to feed what we have for essentially free with work we would already be doing around the homestead weeding and pruning. To add more would mean we would need to work extra to feed.

Thats awesome. I have been thinking about adding rabbits here.

Do rabbits have any negative effect on the land if left in one place too long?

I would imagine the size of the colony would matter. How about parasites and such?
