Hey #plebchain

I know many of y’all have experienced the range of pushback when seeking to introduce Bitcoin to your fiat job in one context or another. I’d love to hear your stories.

Today, I had somewhat mixed (mostly meh) results when I kicked off the “how can we incorporate Bitcoin optionality into checkout” conversation with the dev team today.

I was met with a combination of creative workarounds and dismissive chuckles… a reminder of how early we really still are.

Looks like an OOBP workaround will be the move for now. A bit disappointed, but not surprised, considering it’s only 0.05% of the client base asking for it.

On the plus side, it was an opportunity to educate one of our investors about transaction fees and L2 endeavors. He asked good questions with curious skepticism, rather than derision. And hey I got to talk about Bitcoin. So that’s a start.

I swing from trying to “why bother” like every halving. It seems every halving cycle I go a little longer as there are more receptive people to at least consider it. Each time, it is rough for different reasons as each cycle has different “boogeymen”.

Very true. This is my first time really looking at opportunities to integrate it within the company. I’m thinking of creating a dummy client account and setting something up for myself, to see if it works as a proof of concept. With my copious free time, of course lol 🙄

Congrats on leading that discussion! Sounds like really great progress. Focus on the one who was curious. 🤗

Hey, thank you! Appreciate the positive feedback. Didn’t realize you two were on Nostr, but I’ve enjoyed your show ✌️

I tried it at some point in a company but beyond the skepticism and the monster of “#bitcoin is a scam” the question was: why spend money, resources and time on implementing a payment solution that no one would currently use?

Dead 💀

Yeah it’s tough. With only a single client asking, it’s hard for someone who doesn’t know or care about Bitcoin to justify devoting developer resources to it
