Iris rejects events from authors that your social network has not interacted with . The downside is that discovery of new users is more difficult, and sometimes you see less posts than on other clients.

Is this two hop filtering - content only from those I follow + those I follow - follow?
Actually it doesn't limit the hops — that's why you sometimes still see spam. But maybe we could set the "follow distance" filter on the feed UI level and see what works best.
That's quite cool. If there's no limits to the hops, then as your network grows, you'll still have discoverability. I haven't had any issues finding new people.
I have experienced some of what you're saying, so thanks for the explanation. As a Mac user I find myself preferring the way Iris looks and works, so it's my preferred nostr client.
