Belief is a construct to fullfill the expectations of the masses, because they expect to find certainty in their lives. The uncomfortable nature of our existence is that there is no certainty, only if/then relationships. Ideology is there to cloud your mind with fixed ideas of that which you'll never know with any certainty. You can have faith that the most plausible or the most desirable is your actual reality, but as soon as you start to believe you cloud your mind with fixations that block you from observation. Your epistemic ability will be compromised and your cognitive model will be filled with binary absolutes. This creates opposition in people, opposition towards eachother, opposition is quite literally the opposite of the most plausible model of reality: holism.
