I remember going to a park up in the Ozarks and the ground was literally carpetted with pecans. I asked someone if they were edible and if so, why hasn't someone come by and scooped them all up for sale? She told me that everyone there had so many pecans on their own properties that they couldn't be bothered to take the ones in the park. Squirrel heaven!
