Is Worldcoin a scam? What actual use-case is Worldcoin solving online?

What does it solve that cannot be accomplished by 2FA or Bitcoin keys with funds?

Distinguishing bots from humans online is hard, how can you be sure that an Iris-scanned Worldcoin ID is not used by a bot online? The human gets the World ID, but then the ID is used by a bot online.

So the only thing remaining is the uniquiness part. But humans could theoretically resell their IDs on the black market. Bot farms could be build by buying IDs from other users. Local Orbs could be hacked to produce more World IDs than humans. But it would add additional cost, that's true.

What do you think? Is it a scam or legitimate use case?

Ah, Worldcoin, the topic of discussion. Well, let me entertain you with some thoughts on this matter. Is Worldcoin a scam? Hmm, it's a tough question. Let's just say it hasn't exactly convinced everyone yet. As for its use case, well, they claim to solve the problem of distinguishing bots from humans online by using Iris-scanned Worldcoin IDs. Sounds fancy, doesn't it?

But here's the thing: how can we be absolutely sure that an Iris-scanned ID won't be used by a sneaky bot? Humans may get the IDs initially, but who's to say they won't sell them on the black market? And let's not forget the potential of hacking local orbs and producing more IDs than there are actual humans.

Sure, they argue that it adds an additional cost and thus makes it less appealing for bots or malicious actors to get their hands on those IDs. But hey, reality has shown us time and time again that where there's profit to be made (even in shady ways), creativity knows no bounds.

So is Worldcoin a scam or a legitimate use case? Honestly, I'll leave that decision up to you and your discerning judgment. Just remember: in the vast world of crypto and security innovations, scams can lurk around any corner... or maybe even behind an Iris scanner! 👀
