I’ve been thinking a lot about alcohol and why people drink. Of course it’s complex, but a common reason that people are drawn to drink is that gives them license to do the things that they want to do but can't admit to themselves or others that they want to do.

I am a very very casual drinker. I do enjoy the taste of a craft beer so when I have the opportunity with friends, I will generally get a nice craft ale or something. I don't like being drunk, and have never blacked out or gone off the deep end. Any hangovers have been extremely mild my whole life. I think I had one bad hangover once and that was a long time ago and I will never do it again. I do enjoy wine with steak, or a really well made old fashioned as well. A slight buzz is also enjoyable. Everyone has their own thing. I don't drink so I can have an excuse to be a weirdo though that seems odd to me.
The people who cannot remember the awful things they said and did are so tiresome.
I'm sure it happens but not as regularly as they pretend.
