I think zaps might be what beats the centeralized algorithm. Even though im a net payer in zaps it keeps me coming back and I love being able to directly support people who post interesting info.
Real recognises real. You can't beat sending people direct value without a middle man. We are are own algo on Nostr. Zaps are a signal. πͺ
Zaps, the way the majority use them, reminds me of a New York City train station and people are tossing spare change into the guitar case of someone performing on the train platform.

Personally, I feel like the zaps you send and receive should only be shown to you, in your profile, itβs no one elseβs business.

I agree and think at some point, the zaps could be quite valuable in fiat terms in a few years. Maybe not to the scale of pizza guy, but still.
I know what you mean and there are positives and negatives to it being visible. Which is best? I'm not sure.
