As Andrew preached in Patras, Greece, the Roman governor Aegeates was angered by his success in converting people to Christianity. Aegeates, wanting to preserve paganism, demanded Andrew renounce his faith. Andrew refused, proclaiming the truth of Christ. Enraged, Aegeates ordered Andrew to be crucified. Andrew was bound, not nailed, to an X-shaped cross, so his suffering would be prolonged. From the cross, Andrew continued to preach for two days until he passed to the Lord.

Let us pray to #SaintAndrew to intercede for us, that we may have the strength to proclaim Christ in our lives. #Apostle #OrthodoxChristian #Prayer #Faith
