I find it curious that YHWH was appearing to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as the Most High all the while concealing his actual name [YHWH].

Exodus 6:2–3 (ESV): God [Elohim] spoke to Moses and said to him, “I am the Lord [YHWH]. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty [El], but by my name the Lord [YHWH] I did not make myself known to them.
