If the state says something is illegal, is it ever moral to ignore their law and do it anyhow?
Discussion
Obviously. Like gun restrictions.
I think we all agree that bitcoin is a massive benefit to humanity and a key to reducing suffering in the world. So, if a government says running a bitcoin node is illegal because there is data they deem illegal stored on it, isn’t it moral for those citizens to just ignore that and to continue to run a bitcoin node? Or should we all stop running those nodes because a bad actor simply included something “illegal” and we don’t want to violate a law?
allowing data to be stored on chain is not a benefit to humanity
Depends on how much time and money you have to fight a prosecution and would you be able to win?
