For what signature? Secp256k1? Why do you want it? I'm curious.

My guess is for modern hardware a cpu is good enough. There is overhead to send it to the hardware. Plus, typically the preimage is hashed first so do you want the hash in the asic too?

Yeah, I doubt you need an asic. Just get a FPGA and put the signature IP on there. It will save you 5 years and a few million.

Probably cheaper to buy a handful of commodity CPU/GPU/DSPs. Isn't it just int math?
