Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer in 2001:

"Linux is a cancer that attaches itself in an intellectual property sense to everything it touches," Ballmer said, back before Linux had metastasized into the Windows Subsystem for Linux.

Microsoft's shares lost 40 percent of their value during Ballmer's 14-year tenure.

I believe in May'ish of 2001 that the government presented Microsoft with a lawsuit. Crap, I can't remember the name you call the alleged dispute but I think douche bag Bill Gates got axed.
