We need to stop looking at the lipid panel, it is a complete red herring and unrelated to (almost) any pathology. The main risk factors for coronary heart disease are smoking, diabetes and metabolic syndrome. Even family history and lack of physical exercise is more strongly associated with heart disease than hyperlipidaemia.

What is the most frequent cause of kidney failure in the world? Diabetes. What is the most frequent cause of blindness in the world? Diabetes. What is the strongest predictor of cardiovascular disease (i.e. a heart attack, stroke or peripheral artery disease)? Diabetes.

How do we prevent diabetes? The most fundamental way to prevent diabetes is to limit your carbohydrate intake, a majority of which come from sugary sweetened beverages, junk food, pastries&bread and starchy vegetables.

Do that, don't smoke and exercise. Also avoid seed oils, and you're golden.
