Not sure what the rosary is. Can you explain to an orthodox what they are afraid and why the hair on the back of your neck stand up?

btw sounds like the whole thing had substance, not just some typical visit to the church. I guess this is good

It was a wake (evening before a funeral). We always pray the rosary, the evening before a funeral, and there are lots of men there because they often have to work during the day, so they come to the wake and skip the funeral. Funeral is more women and elderly and children.

"It's a set prayer, that is recited, as a set of rotating prayers, including the Hail Mary and the Our Father. If you are in a group, you speak the words aloud together, so it is a form of group recitation and meditation.\n\nPeople often use prayer beads, to keep track of which part is next. 📿\n\n

ngl i am getting excited about getting into this, i was at a rosary in a sisters of charity homeless shelter in liverpool one time, i had no idea what was going on

i need to learn how to recite the Our Father (Pai Nosso) in portuguese, it is recited every time in the beginning of the communion, and i keep forgetting to remember it, so, this sunday i'm gonna recite it along with them... i knew what it was so i'm trying to say it in english but lol impossible

i made a nice one that i can read on my phone browser, that also respects the device dark/light theme https://images.mleku.dev/pai%20nosso.html

So Rosary is a collection of prayers, right?

Is this what you mean?

The rosary is a powerful shield in the spiritual battle, yes. It's a battle to the death, which is why it contains the phrase

"Holy Mary, Mother of God,

pray for us sinners,

now and at the hour of our death.

Amen."

It is often recited at funerals or before military battles or political conflicts, but it is best said regularly because it helps you fight your daily battles, as well.

I like it 👍

Btw if you want to see what he is reffering into (that "interview"), watch this video. You might find it interesting.
