Today would've been my granddad's 96th birthday. He died 13 years ago. He was a tremendously flawed human in so many ways. But I miss him all the same and I'm grateful for all the time I got to spend with him.

Mine died when I was 4 and the family never recovered. God bless mate. I know that feeling
We are all probably flawed more than we will ever realize. Beautiful that you acknowledge this but still have deep gratitude for him.

If there is a relative I miss it is my granddad. He had been a farmer all of his life, but when I was 3-4 yrs old he taught me to read and write and to make calculations (yes, even multiplications and divisions) and that really shaped my whole life. Of his 4 grandsons, 3 became engineers and one lawyer. And he taught everything with love and patience.
