Then that is a marriage issue. A marriage can't work between two people on two completely separate paths. That's why I assumed a good marriage (or single parent) when answering the question. A good marriage meaning two people who are in agreement on general shared issues.
This issue can't even be addressed before the first, as a marriage is a joining of all things, including assets, in my philosophical opinion. That is legally true in many cases.
And if you value your spouse more than the outcome, then the answer was already decided before the question was asked, making this a fruitless question.
This is exactly why I have like 10k in a fiat emergency fund so my wife and I never have to worry about selling our Bitcoin. That was our agreement. And we used it recently, funny enough.
You have to be on the same page with the spouse or create a page you can both live on. Otherwise, you'll eventually be separate pages in separate books.
